Whats Happening at the Library?

The library will be closed Tuesday, October1st - Friday, October 3rd as our director attendsthe Iowa Library Association annual conference. Due dates set during this period will be extended.

Please wait to turn in games, puzzles,kits, DVDs, etc. until you can come into the library to do so. Thank you!

 

Weekly StoryTimeis held at the library every Wednesday @ 10:30am. Bring the small kiddos and enjoy fun stories and songs.

 

Kids/tweens are welcometo the library every Wednesday early-out for Wacky Wednesday rotating activities and fun! Activities start at 1:30pm and run 1-2 hours (depending on the activity). Can’t make it for the official activity? Our LEGO bins will still be out after the activity until close at 6pm.

 

Programs:

●10/4 @ 10am - 3pm: Come to the libraryduring the LUO - ClassicCar Cruise In for our Fall Book Sale. All proceeds will be donated to the library in support of upcoming programs for all ages. Books will be available for free-will donation purchase. Cash & check only! While you’re here peruse our FREE Costume Closet in the Children’s Area.

●10/9 @ 5:30-7pm: Join our crafting group, Sit ‘N Stitch as we come together for another month of connection and crafting. This group meetsthe second Thursdayof each monthwith no expertise required.

●10/11@ 3pm: Join us at Posy Bakery and Cakes in North Liberty for our Posy Pages discussion of The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden. This is a book club in partnership with Posy Bakery and Cakes.

●10/12@ 3:30 - 4:30pm: Join us at Plum Spooky, a Halloween eventhosted by the Johnson County Historical Society at the Plum Grove Historic Home. Mrs. Megan will be holding a Story Hour outside of the historic home full of songs, seasonal stories and fun! ●10/16@ 7pm: Join the Table of Context Book Club as we discussEverything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant by Curtis Chin. If you'd like to join this discussion via Zoom, please send us a message for the link.

●10/18@ 5 - 8pm: Enjoya spooky screening and craft nightwith the Movie in the Park event at the pavilion at Creekside Park. Bring the family to paint a pumpkin, get a cool face painting, go on a scavenger hunt and watch a double screening of It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Halloweentown. FREE popcorn, and drinks will be available. Attendees are expected to bring their own blankets, chairs, etc. to enjoy the movies and costumes are encouraged! Activities will be available while supplies last.

●10/23 @ 7pm: Join the After Hours Book Club as we discuss our October pick. Keep an eye on our social mediaor swing by the libraryto find out what book we’ll be discussing. If you'd like to join this discussion via Zoom, please send us a message for the link.

●10/25@ 12pm: Dungeons &Dragons is a FREE groupto join for both seasonedplayers and beginners. Registration is required and players must be 14 years and up.

●10/31@ 5 - 7pm: Trick-or-Treat at OPL! Swingby the library during Oxford’sTrick-or-Treat night to grab some candy or take a break at our Halloween coloring table.
